Getting started
Introduction
What Axerity is, who it's for, and the few minutes between you and a working set of books.
Axerity is the back office for small teams. It's two products bundled into one account:
- Books — a real double-entry accounting app. A leaner alternative to QuickBooks. The same primitives your accountant uses, packaged for someone who'd rather not read a 400-page manual.
- Files — a private, encrypted file workspace. The same problem Dropbox solves, but with a stronger privacy posture and built for the documents that go with bookkeeping.
Who it's for
- Solo founders and freelancers running their own books.
- Small studios, agencies, consultancies, and indie SaaS — anyone with fewer than ~30 people on the books.
- People who tried QuickBooks, gave up, and are now living in a spreadsheet they wish they didn't have to maintain.
What you'll do in the next ten minutes
- Sign in with magic link or Discord — no password.
- Create your first organization — give it a name and a currency.
- Post your first transaction — record some opening capital.
- Look at a report — see your first balance sheet.
That's it. Once you've done those four things, every other feature is just more of the same with more accounts and more lines.
